I am delighted to announce that long-time ODG member Angela Swan will be honoured with an honorary Doctorate of Civil Law by McGill University on 26 November, at McGill’s first in-person convocation ceremony in two years. 

When I first came to McGill 21 years ago, I had the benefit of Angela’s wisdom in relation to all aspects of private law, as have many of us in the private law community. She taught for many years before that at the University of Toronto and now teaches at Osgoode Hall. Angela of course is a leading figure in private practise in Canada, particularly in commercial and corporate law, as well as a leading commentator, particularly on contract law. She is a rare example of a true practitioner-academic.
